Hadzabe (Bushmen)

Destination: Arusha, Tanzania
Duration: 5 hours
Price: $30

Lake Eyasi, south of the Ngorongoro Highlands, is home to the last remote Bushmen tribe, the Hadzabe. This tribe still hunts wild animals with bow and arrow and gathers insects, fruits and honey in the bush. The Hazabe Bushmen are one of the last remaining hunters and gatherers in Africa and they live solely on what their habitat has to offer. Just like our ancestors did for thousands of years.

Experience the culture, habitat and way of life of the Hadzabe Bushmen first hand during this cultural activity. You go with the Bushman on a hunting trip early in the morning. Learn how they make fire and prepare their food. In the afternoon you will visit a market where Hadzabe trade their honey, fruits and other things for knives, arrows and spears that are produced at the Datoga silvermsith. This cultural activity is absolutely a memorable experience and worth the extra time (3-4 hours).
